Darius
Cret.
I'm a senior JavaScript and React developer based in Timișoara, Romania. Seven years building frontend apps for teams in Europe and the US. I write code that's easy to change six months later, and I like helping junior developers get unstuck and grow.
Places I've
worked.
Enterprise clients in Germany and the UK, US startups, and everything in between. Mostly React and JavaScript frontend work, but I've touched the backend when the project needed it.
Shipping features used by hundreds of companies and thousands of end users. Lots of work with AG Grid: filtering, search, pagination, the kind of tables that actually hold up in production. I also mentor on the team and run frontend interviews.
Built a Next.js proof of concept end to end, plus a serverless REST API on AWS Lambda with TypeScript. Wired it up through API Gateway and DynamoDB.
Cloud project for a German client. Migrated off AWS UI React components onto their internal UI library, upgraded React, set up CI/CD in GitHub, and built an IoT proof of concept with AWS CDK and IoT Core. Got my AWS Developer Associate cert while I was there.
Three projects at once: a Gatsby + GraphQL + Contentful e-commerce site for a UK client, a media monitoring SPA for a US enterprise, and a React Native app for a US startup on iOS and Android.
What I'm good
at.
Most of my work is React and TypeScript on the frontend, but I've picked up enough AWS along the way to be useful on the backend too.
React is where I spend most of my time. Hooks, context, performance work, the usual. Day to day I reach for TanStack Query, Zustand, and React Hook Form.
I use TypeScript on both frontend and backend. Strict types, not because it's trendy, but because they save you from stupid bugs at 4pm on a Friday.
AWS Developer Associate certified. I've worked with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CDK, and IoT Core on real projects, not just tutorials.
Component libraries, design system hooks, monorepo setup. I try to build things so the next person doesn't have to rip it all out in a year.
Jest, Enzyme, Cypress. I write tests because I've been burned without them. I also do code reviews and try to get the team aligned on what "good enough" looks like.
GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker. I like automating the boring stuff so deploys aren't a nail-biting event every time.
A bit about
me.
I live in Timișoara and work remotely with teams across Europe and the US. I care more about code someone can actually read next year than code that just passes the PR review today.
